February 11 is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a day declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 to encourage women and girls to enter the sciences. Currently, women represent 34% of Opala’s total employees and contractors, and 50% of Opala’s executive leadership team.
We asked Jenny Schell, Product Delivery Director and Melissa Parsons, Data Engineer about how they became interested in STEM as a career and what needs to be done to close the gender gap in the sciences.
